‘Charles Dickens Telling Tales’
A selection of dramatic and comic
tales dramatized from the original
texts, including ‘The Pickwick Papers’,
demonstrating the scope of the
Victorian novelist's interests. Dickens
is portrayed by actor Jonathan
Goodwin in this one-man production.
‘Haunting Tales of Thomas Hardy’
Although famous the world over for his
Wessex Tales and his poetry, Thomas
Hardy also had a lifelong fascination
with the supernatural and local folklore.
Jonathan Goodwin has adapted the best
of Hardy's ghostly fiction including
‘The Withered Arm’.
‘Mr Polly’
Written in 1910, ‘The History of Mr Polly’ is
one of Wells's most delightful comic novels.
Alfred Polly is an insolvent shopkeeper who
dreams of running away from his life and
starting over again. His head is filled with
romantic, Quixotic adventures from the books
he has read since he was a boy. Perhaps real
life could be just as exciting, if only Alfred is
brave enough to escape his humdrum
surroundings and live!
Jonathan Goodwin performs as Mr Polly in
this comedy drama.
